Factors that determine the effectivess of the Botox treatment include the type of skin you have, the thickness of your facial skin and degree of facial wrinkles.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE TREATMENT?
Your doctor will examine several factors to determine whether Botox injections are suitable for you and if the treatment can achieve the desired results. It is important to inform the doctor regarding your medical history medications you are presently taking, and your expectations from the treatment.

Your doctor carefully identifies the muscles on which the treatment will be carried out, and weakens only wrinkle producing facial muscles to maintain the natural facial expressions. Thin needles amount of Botox is injected. Your facial features, the degree of facial wrinkles and the area to be treated determine the number of injections to be given. If you are undergoing treatment for wrinkles on the edges of your eyes, usually two to five injections are given. No anaesthesia is required, though you may feel uncomfortable for a few moments and experience minute pain.

You can begin your daily activities immediately after the Botox treatment is over. After the treatment, you may experience headache, which resolves in a few hours. You must follow your doctor's instructions carefully. Do not rub or massage the treated areas, as it may spread the toxin to different areas of your face, and cause facial weakness or sagging for some time.

WHAT PRECAUTIONS SHOULD YOU TAKE AFTER THE TREATMENT?
The results of Botox remedy can be seen within a few days following the treatment, but the final results will be visible only after about two weeks. Post the treatment, the treated facial muscles begin to function again within three to six months. You need follow-up injections every few months, after the treatment, to maintain the facial appearance.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS AND SIDE EFFECTS OF THE TREATMENT?
Botox treatment is usually safe, if you consult an experienced doctor.
