Birth of a baby brings immense joy and pleasure for the family but it is preceded by a long period of waiting during pregnancy that brings along anxieties and a lot of nervousness and worries about the baby's health. In the present times, where the concept of nuclear family is rapidly increasing, many young couples find themselves alone amidst all these anxieties. They look for guidance in books and internet. Although helpful, but at times even the books and on internet may leave you confused and stressed.
pregnancy is a physiological phenomenon and the pregnant women may not appreciate the importance of regular check-ups during this period.This leaflet is designed to inform you about the important aspects of Antenatal care, tests recommended during pregnancy, and all other related queries.


WHAT IS ANTENATAL CARE AND WHY IS IT ESSENTIAL FOR THE PREGNANT WOMEN?
Antenatal care is the regular health check-up and care programme for pregnant women. This check-up is essential for the health of both the baby and the mother, as it enables the physician to detect any health problem at an early stage. At Artemis, we offer a comprehensive Antenatal Programme that takes care of all the aspects of the well being of the mother and baby.

HOW IS ARTEMIS ANTENATAL PROGRAMME DESIGNED?

The programme includes three trimesters, which are further divided into classes meant for educating the mother on pre and post natal care. It includes:

  1. Consultation with gynaecologists
  2. Comprehensive risk assessment during the initial stages of pregnancy
  3. Ongoing risk evaluation during each visit
  4. Dietician and physiotherapy visits
  5. All standard recommended tests from conception to delivery

WHEN CAN YOU ENROLL FOR ARTEMIS ANTENATAL PROGRAMME?
Ideally, you should enroll for Artemis Antenatal Programme during the initial stages of pregnancy, however, you can also enroll for any or all the trimesters in the programme at any stage of the pregnancy.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF ANTENATAL CLASSES?

The Antenatal classes are specially designed to prepare you for the baby's birth and to educate you on childcare.These classes help the expecting mothers to remain fit and healthy during pregnancy. Also, these classes are an opportunity to interact with other future mothers and discuss the things that might be worrying you. Artemis Antenatal classes cover the following topics:

  4. Relaxation, breathing and antenatal exercises to keep you fit during pregnancy and help in labour
